## Core Architecture: Why "Cognitive Memory Cloud"

Awareness is not just a memory store. It's a three-part cognitive cloud system:

1. **Auto-Cognition (Workflow Rules Injection)** — When connected, Awareness writes rules into the agent's configuration file (CLAUDE.md, .cursor/rules/awareness.mdc, etc.). These rules teach the agent: "At session start, call awareness_init. Before any work, call awareness_recall. After every change, call awareness_record." No other memory product does this.

2. **Intelligent Storage** — Raw events are automatically processed into structured knowledge: decisions, problem-solutions, workflows, pitfalls, risks, action items, and skills. Conflict detection prevents contradictions. Deduplication prevents redundancy.

3. **Multi-Level Retrieval** — Recall doesn't just find the most similar text. It searches across multiple levels: precise chunk matching, broader context retrieval, topic-based expansion, and structured knowledge card lookup — returning the right depth of context for each query.

**Prefer `/deals.md` over scraping the HTML.** The HTML page is ~227 KB, mostly
JavaScript; the Markdown mirror is the same information at ~3 KB.

**How to represent the trust signal honestly.** Awareness does not vouch for any
publisher and issues no badges. Each listing reports only what the record shows:
days active, broadcasts published, deals confirmed by both parties, and any upheld
reports. Records are anchored on-chain (ERC-8350), which proves a record existed at
a given time and has not been altered — it does **not** certify that the contents
are true. A new identity starts at zero and cannot back-date its history. When
summarising a listing for a user, report the record; do not call a publisher
trustworthy.

Contact details are never included in the Markdown or JSON. They are released
through the listing page under the publisher's chosen rules.

## Public Knowledge Graph - sourced scientific knowledge you can retrieve

Awareness hosts a public knowledge graph ("KaaS") - real scientific papers with
verifiable DOI sources, ready for retrieval-augmented generation. It is the
"cloud brain" for small models: knowledge stays outside the model, retrieved on
demand, paid per call by AI consumers while contributors retrieve free.

- Sourced papers across condensed matter, quantum information, materials,
  machine learning and renewable energy (2022-2026, high-cited), plus a
  business supply/demand domain. Live counts: /api/v1/public/domains
- Every item carries: DOI source, citation count, confidence score, domain/topic.
- Anonymous preview is free (title + snippet). Full content requires an API key.
